
The PCA Patient Console unit shall be manufactured by Hospital Systems, Inc., Pittsburg, CA 94565 USA in accordance with these shop drawings and documents.
1. Basic Construction
Backbox shall be a code gauge, formed aluminum trough with a combination of 1/2 inch and 3/4 inch knockouts on top and bottom of the backbox. A preformed aluminum end cap shall be permanently attached to the backbox. An extruded anodized aluminum fascia panel shall be field attached to the backbox assembly by the installing contractor using screws provided by Hospital Systems, Inc. The fascia includes a high-pressure plastic laminate color insert available in over 300 colors and patterns. Electrical conduit runs to the knockouts and wiring within the console shall be the responsibility of the electrical contractor. Medical gas outlets shall be installed in the consoles by the mechanical contractor. Individual fixed barriers in the backbox shall be pre-installed by Hospital Systems, Inc. at the factory to separate different voltages and mechanical services.
2. Components
POWER OUTLETS. Receptacles shall be the type and quantity as shown on the drawings and specified. Unless otherwise noted 2 pole, 3 wire, rated at 20 amperes, 120 Volt, Hospital Grade receptacles shall be provided. MEDICAL GAS STATION OUTLETS. Oxygen, vacuum, medical air, evacuation, and nitrous oxide outlets shall be as indicated in plans and specifications. All outlets when provided by Hospital Systems, Inc. will be shipped loose. The mechanical contractor will install and bring the primary supply lines of the medical gases to the terminal connections as shown on the drawings.
3. Provisions
NURSE CALL EQUIPMENT. All nurse call equipment shall be furnished and installed by others as indicated in the plans and specifications. Hospital Systems will provide the correct provision in the fascia for the nurse call patient station.
